To embrace the changes brought by this new cycle (and the beginning of the autumn season), learn to leverage your past experiences to finish the year successfully and feel energized for the months ahead.
What are you expecting from this period? Have you taken the time to reflect and analyze your journey? What lessons can you draw from it? Too often, we forget to do this, as we remain focused on goals that we rarely take the time to reassess along the way.
It’s essential to reassess because the goals you set initially may no longer be the same since you started. They might have evolved or may no longer align with who you are. A change in cycles is an ideal time for positive transformations: how can you align more with yourself, your values, and program your future success by setting healthy, highly motivating intentions for the rest of the year?
The best way to reassess your goals
Simply do an “autumn clean-up” of your goals ! Just like you would with your wardrobe, getting rid of clothes that no longer fit and storing those that are out of season. This reflection will help you gain clarity and select goals that align more with your current aspirations (nothing stops you from returning to those goals later, once you have the right “tools” for them).
Some ambitions may no longer fit:
- either because you’ve already grown beyond the goals you previously set,
- or they are no longer relevant or suitable given your current personal or professional growth.
Don’t be afraid to “leave behind” stagnant ideas that no longer resonate with you. In the end, they’ll waste your precious time and drain your energy (due to lack of motivation or frustration from not achieving them). Instead, focus on what truly excites you at this moment.
Why is this goal important to you now ? How does it make sense ? How does it resonate within you ? What resources are available to help you achieve these new goals, and if not, how can you acquire the necessary tools/skills/knowledge ?
How to set powerful new intentions?
Setting truly motivating intentions requires both clarity and precision; they need to “vibrate” within you and inspire you to push your limits ! The more you refine this new goal, the clearer it will be in your mind, and you’ll know exactly the path to take to achieve it.
This requires “mapping out the journey” and making it your own. You must be sure of the actions to take and the resources you’ll need (which can also come in the form of external help). In other words, you need an action plan !
Having an action plan will allow you to reach your desired success while being informed and ready to implement what’s needed. But the first point you should never compromise on is your desire to pursue your projects !
Turning past experiences into a driving force for success
What are your past resources ? What tools have you honed over the years ? What makes you an expert when you look at your journey and/or preferences ? We all have areas of expertise, unique and brilliant ways of doing things that are just waiting to be used—or even shared !
Rely on these skills and practices to evolve, and even enhance them further: this is where your success lies, as it’s what you do best !
To build your future, you need to draw from the past: see your journey as a resume from which you can extract the best. It can help you resolve the challenges and conflicts you’re facing today—you’ve already accomplished so much!—allowing you to sort out what you no longer need and focus on what truly matters to you.
And today, what could you add to this journey ? How could you enhance it even more? What skills should you highlight ? When it comes to your professional life, a skills assessment during a coaching session could help clarify this and accelerate your success…
Harness the energy of the new season to stay motivated
Autumn is a transitional period: magical skies, beautiful colors in nature, but also shorter days and sometimes grey weather that can affect your mood. We’ve just come out of summer, which tends to naturally recharge us with energy, so maintaining that energy is crucial to stay fit and motivated through the end of the year !
It’s important not to overdo it—take time to recharge when needed, by engaging in activities that bring you joy. In addition to sports and culture, think of games and fun activities. They positively impact your mental and physical health by sustaining your desire to act and maintaining your good mood.
These are often moments of sharing and deeper connection with your loved ones. The laughter that results from these moments is good for you, helps release tension, stimulates creativity, and even boosts future productivity.
This should keep you energized for the rest of the year !
