Do you feel the need to take a breath?
Is your motivation running low?
What if summer became an invitation to slow down, declutter, and reconnect with what truly makes you feel alive?
This time of year, often softer and more open, is a wonderful opportunity to simplify, realign, and rediscover joy in what we do.
Reconnecting is a personal journey.
It involves introspection, but also concrete actions to nurture what deeply inspires us. It’s a living process, to be adjusted with the changing seasons of our lives.
Because what lights us up; those powerful desires; are incredible sources of energy for deep and lasting fulfillment.
Nurture what makes you come alive
What nourishes me deeply, beyond goals and obligations?
In coaching, I often meet highly committed individuals… who have become disconnected from what truly makes them feel alive.
That’s what recentring is all about: reconnecting with your deepest desires, your natural talents, and what you enjoy doing; without needing recognition or validation.
And yet, these activities are fertile ground for your well-being and even your professional growth.
They help you recharge, stay inspired and receptive to new ideas, regain balance, reconnect with yourself (and your talents), and of course, manage stress more effectively at work.
Take time to identify what you’re passionate about
You most likely have passions ; whether artistic, spiritual, athletic, playful, or social. (They might even blend several of these dimensions!)
For me, ceramics has become a true passion over the past few years.
Working with clay, shaping with my hands, being fully present in the moment… it’s a space of freedom and reconnection with myself.
And yet, daily life had pushed this aside.
Recently, I decided to make space for it again by joining a weekly workshop.
And I rediscovered how much this practice nourishes me, soothes me, and reconnects me to my creativity.
What makes us come alive is never just a hobby; it’s real fuel for both our balance and our professional impact.
Clearly identify what lights you up
These are the activities that energize you without the pressure to perform or be recognized. You do them simply because they feel good.
Take a moment to reflect on the following questions. They can help you take stock and begin realignment:
- What activities make you feel mentally refreshed or help you recharge?
- What natural talents do you express in those moments?
- What personal qualities from these activities do you already use (or could use) in your work?
- Are those qualities aligned with your current professional life?
- What are your current desires? What brings you joy and makes you “vibrate”?
- How could you combine this spontaneous joy of “doing” with your desire to create or contribute?
Bringing lightness and inspiration back to work
By nurturing your passions, you access greater mental well-being, become more open to others, and more in tune with fresh ideas ; which can be especially valuable in fields where constant innovation is key.
A creative workshop, a group run, a team volunteering project…
These initiatives foster cohesion, bring meaning, and build human bridges far beyond the boundaries of your job description.
You radiate positive and creative energy, you regain a sense of lightness and momentum, and you listen more attentively to your personal needs.
Cultivating your passions opens up breathing space in your day-to-day.
You become more attuned to yourself; and to others, to innovation, to inspiration.
And you? What makes you come alive today?
How could you make more room for that energy in your professional life?
